So basically, one gets more than 75 minutes of Elvira Madigan art. The rereleased version (of which one can read more about at the album details section), has a richer and more well balanced production and mix due to the remix and remaster the release was subjected to in 2003/2004. This first edition had to carry the weight of a slightly poorer soundscape which actuarly hailed from a rather failed masteringsession including the use of a DAT-tape recorder I no longer use. This DAT is solely responsible for the somewhat underfunded-sounding mix but on the other hand shows a raw and hungry "underground" act at it's best. So I suppose it is up to ones taste whether one likes this version from the rereleased one. This one defenitly has more historical as well as sentimental value! It is also the only way to get a hold of the songs from the unreleased debut to date. This entirely selffinanced pressing of the CD (under "Northlore Records") is still available upon request from this site. Details on how to invest in it can be found at the "Buy CD!" section. Signed versions come upon request and it will not be re-pressed once sold out. |

In late 1999 and in the spring of 2000 before I had started thinking about the eventual first official release of "Blackarts" (the first edition above), I did make two different promocopies featuring a few tracks from the CD. Now one can call these promocopies or "demos" if that is prefered since they were only CD-R:s made within the sanctity of my livingroom on a home computer. The graphics were printed out on a desktop printer and I basically just glued labeles on the CD:s. They were never sold however, but mainly "manufactured" for the fun of holding a playable CD of "Elvira Madigan" in ones hand. Purely for selfsatisfaction that is. One or two radiostations or recordcompanies might have recieved a copy of the latter version and if I'm not mistaken a independent (unfortuanly today disbanded) label was interested. They however did back out.
The "no 1" promo above is displayed with great unease since I do think it is probably the most ugly graphic I have done for Elvira Madigan. Heck, what was I thinking!? Anyway, the promo contained the tracks "Drakens Tårar", "Svartnatt" and "Mab". Promo no 2 (with far better graphics) contained the same tracks apart from "Drakens Tårar" which was here removed to give room to "Gwenhwyfar" (which here was called "Förbarmelse" meaning "Mercy"). |
