Site no 4: The site of broken promises

A quick tap on one of the two ladies above One was taken to the main page as shown below. Finally I had done the design in a manner so that all the sites pages were accessable from the scroller on the left.

The main page above didn't provide much else than advertising of the new album and means to visit the "Northlore Records" section that basically was a smaller document explaining what the recordcompany was. Tapping the history button and below is a screenshot of what You got:

For Your pleasure I have included two examples of the discography that was almost entirely built up on images instead of text. It truly looks nice and was surprisingly easy to load into the browser apart from the large use of imagery. The obvious drawback was that You had to click Yourself onto the "Trackdetails & Lyrics" just to see what songs were on the album (but on the other hand that particular document contained no imagery at all). It was of course not very practical though and not such a far step from the separate "Discography" and "Trackdetails" sections I stuck to prior to this site.
PS: Note that I had a cover image for "Elvira Madigan" the unreleased debut!

Two seperate pages away from the discography lay the trackdetails and lyrics for each song (example below). A needlessly far too long way just to read lyrics.

I didn't really go nuts while designing the graphics on quite a few sections on this site and the "Trackdetails" for each song is a good example of this. I thought (and still think) that less may very well be sufficient at times and so I didn't use so much obvious imagestructures while building up most of the sections on site. To come and think of it, I believe only the "Discography" and the "Gallery" incuded a heavily use of larger imagery.

(...Continuing from left column:)
Seems I'm cutting my way quite fast through the details for each image-example but it goes to show that there isn't really much to say about them due to the lack of needlessly large jpg:s.

For the first time I had a section featuring the lady from whom I got the bandname.
Generally regarding the site; I can say that "The Vaults" eventually contained an alternative lyric I wrote for the song "Häxor, Maror och Vittror" that appear on the album "Witches...". It was actually the first lyric I did for the song but was so explicit that I decided not to use it. Some requests popped up regarding availability of those words so I put them out, but have now excluded them again. I don't think its' apropriet to post them again.
What stands out regarding this site in retrospect is truly how long it lasted. And I guess the dates memorobilia below stands as testament to that.
Dates Memorobilia:
29 November (2001): The site is launched
21 December: I get my two first distributors - both in South Korea. And this date marks the starting point of my yapping about T-shirts that never became manufactured. One of the greater promises I broke. At this point I merely mention that I am planning printing them
24 January (2002): The first reviews have started to pop up and "Witches..." has only gotten 9/10, 9,5/10 and 4/5. Needless to say, I am overwhelmed! Regarding the T-shirts; I now say they'll have to wait but that they will be available on the promotion tour
20 February: Here's a funny thing. I already start talking about my plans for the "next CD" (which is "Regent Sie" and not the Covers-album "Angelis Deamonae").
24 April: EM signs licensing deal for the first time. This is done with "CD-Maximum" of Russia. I advertise the upcoming first live radio-interview (first said to be held May 3 but eveutually ended up being done May 17). The T-shirt drama continues as I now post that they will have to be postponed "to early next year" (meaning early 2003). I do think this was the last I mention about them though, but I do say the delay is due the financial situation that forces me to focus my funds on the upcoming Promotiontour, props for photosession, the photosession itself, the next album and the fact that my studio needs a facelift to accomodate the needs of the yet untitled "Regent Sie". I also make official that the next album will be a coversalbum instead of the original piece I mention earlier.
19 July: I have to cancel my planned (and much looked forward to) visit to the Wacken festival in Germany because the ferryline I booked tickets with shut down their business completely, so my schedule suddenly became impossible to pull off, and unfortuanly this date had to give. "Witches..." has been released in Russia/CIS/Baltic States, and I give hints on songs that will appear on the upcoming covers album. In the manner true to the nature of this site I also make yet another broken promise as I gossip about a certain track that was originally a "Eurovision Song Contest" contribution from Sweden (and that I aparently am rather excited about). That particular track never made the "Angelis..." album.
1 December: I mention the fact that I am negotiation with another company which at this time is "unnamed" and "unofficial". The company is of course "Black Lodge". I also make official all the songs for "Angelis Deamonae".
19 March (2003): I explain about the delay for the release of "Angelis..." (which was due to the re-releases of "Witches..." and "Blackarts") but strongly believe the CD will be out late summer that very same year.
11 April: The Gallery is put out of comission and I add two examples from the photosession I finally came around to do. Funny thing is that due to the delay of "Angelis...", the site had to live longer than expected and thus the "new" Gallery I hoped to include wouldn't be launched until one and a half years later.
8 November: I post news regarding the (unscheduled) remix of "Blackarts" I am enveloped in at the time. I also tell that the next original album will be called "Regent Sie".
13 June: (2004) I post an essay about the demise of "Quorthon" of the muscular "Bathory".
7 November: The site is killed off. And I hope not to make so many broken promises in the future.
