Defently the most intruiging songs I did during this first recordingsession. It is eerie how it provides a glimpse into the direction I am to take eventually. It is still one of my absolute favourite tracks and I just go nuts everytime I put it into the CD player. If You can't wait for the eventual release of the "Elvira Madigan" album I strongly suggest getting the first edition of "Blackarts" where this track is included in the bonustrack section.

Anyway, this track starts off with a beautiful introduction followed by a heavy interlude and then blasts off with the metalriffing (twisted into Speed Metal) formely used in my previous band called Andalucia. The song has a lot of different riffings, like for instance the acoustic guitar-lines which are here featured with distortion and note that the ending riff is the very same that starts "Vanhelgedom" off. It is a rather nice idea to frame the entire album in this way.

The story is remarkable. It is the chilling tale of a man who gazes down a black well and sees his own face in the mirroring waters, and then after shedding a single tear (consisting of a drop of blood) that breaks the mirror apart, he no longer finds his reflection in the water. He thus needs to bend to the will of fate and cast himself into the well to die as th einterpretation of the vision is that if the reflection is gone, the object causing the reflection can not be there either.

By the way, the incorrect grammatically phrased title becomes fully comprehensable if one reads the entire line it is featured in. It was just a silly idea to lift out a phrase of the lyrics that sounded neat and somewhat "wrong".

Från Ögat Når en Blodröd Tår

Jag stirrar djupt ner i Brunnens gap
Med blicken tom och fylld av hat
En Nattsvart pil genom bröst och själ
Men hjärtat slår på Silverfat

Ett Nattsvart himlavalv jag ser
I mörkrets dunkla djup
I korpens fjäderskrud till Gryningens ljus

Och nu
Längst där nere
Jag ser en man
Som stirrar tillbaks på mig
Men allt blir grumligt

"From the Eye Reaches a Bloodred Tear"

I stare deep into the open jaws of the Well
With an empty gaze and full of hatred
A nightly black arrow pierces through both chest and spirit
Yet the Heart beats on a silverplate

A nightly black welkin I see
In the dusky depths of the Dark
In ravens feathergarb until the first lights of dawn

And now
Far down below
I see a man
Who stares back at me
But all turns obscure
And soon everything will be gone
Do I, I stand left alone?

From the Eye Reaches a Bloodred Tear
For all the open wounds of my very soul

Down to the surface of water and breaks the night apart
In splinters for only one drop of Blood
From me...

"The surface gathers its splinters together
And the mirror becomes one again
But passed is He!"

I close my eyes and make my choice
Only but one step from the depths of the Well
When daylight arrives everything will have passed...
