Forgotten, this track lay in wait until most other songs on the album were either finished written or finished recorded. Already recorded was the drumlines, one electric and one acoustic guitar. It was what one might call a "fast" song in the making. It took me probably just two or three days to write the basic lines of the track (most other tracks are written over a vast period - say six months stretching up to perhaps even a year! Some tracks though intend to be written in just a few days, like this one). It was when I started putting keyboards, more guitars and replaced a rather annoying first guitarsolo with a completely different basic solo that it got a major facelift. Note that the main riff (together with the ending riff) appears somewhere else on the album!

This song once had the title "Forbarmelse" which means "Mercy" in English, but was changed into "Gwenhwyfar" which is the "Celtic" name for Arthurs wife Guennevere.
