This is the fastest song to date I have ever written. It is tied together with the predesessing song and blasts off with grinding drums in true Black Metal spirit. Perhaps this is the most "Black Metal-ish" song under the ElviraMadigan fan. Initially it had completely different lyrics. These words were however so explicit that I felt it might be wrong to put it on an album where the lyrics more or less follow a poetic or storytelling standard. The original words were a complete and relentless attack on the female strong believers in Christianity and had several offensive terms relating to those individuals (many of sexual nature...).

Replacing these offensive lyrics was a tale of a man who lies freezing to death in the snow but gets taken care of by a woman, who after having "warmed" him up also gets him drunk. Then out of the shadows comes two wicked sisters and they all live happily ever after. To put it short. He doesn't want to leave (who would!).

The song is not that very long, but manages to accomplish surpisingly much with an entirely instrumental middle section. This was the very first song I wrote for this album and had the drumlines recorded during the "BlackArts" sessions. However the rest of the instruments were all put much later on. It was also actually thought of as the title song for the CD and well, I suppose it more or less is, since "Häxor" means "Witches".

Total running time: 3:49

Häxor, Maror och Vittror

Du ser mig ligga i snön
Sätter du blodet i svall

You see me lying in the snow
All but a moment from freezing to death
So you take me home and before an open fire
You set my flood my bloodstream
Whilst you yourself remains just as cold

In a passionate drunkenness and above emptied jugs - In the chamber
With a misty glare I see you in your evening gown
But around you like shadows that flicker in the darkness
You are not alone in my comany
Your sisters, you and I

There is one so fair and one so beautiful
The third one dark and she reaches out for my hand

I bury myself in the primitive desires of the flesh
So deep that I may never escape - If my longing would return
For of night as of day, every waking hour
You are my host who grants me everything
As long as the hunger within you and your sisters I satisfie

So tell me why should I leave when the winter rages outside
For witches, (night)mares and ???? never do me any harm
