No Swede could have escaped the impact folkpop had during the nineties. It was really some sort of revolution in mainstream music in Sweden as Nordman made it big. It was like the first time ever something with substantial quality was accepted by the larger mass and this act (lead by a former metal singer by the way) appealed to metalheads as well as the avarage Joe. They released some three or four albums after disappearing but the heavyness and heavy metal feel of the songs left its' mark in my music taste anyway. Nordman also carries alot of responsibility for my personal revelation that English is not necessarily the best or most apropriet choice of language.

Anyway, the original track has a quite nice trademark which I myself could not rercreate. It sounded quite boring when I played it so I eventually came to the conclution that I had to "interpret" it quite differntly to provide the same effect. You see, the bass on the original version more or less plays only one note until the first chorus ends and then the song makes a quite effectful turn as the bass just sort of flies away! It really sounds awesome. I did something quite different though. I basically had to! Playing one note and basically the same rythm for such a long time does not seem to work on an Elvira Madigan track. I suppose one will have to hear my interpretation to understand what I mean! Ha!

Other than that; Well, it was nice anyway to find a song in Swedish to put on the album and I have taken quite some liberty with the original stuff. But I believe I have stayed true to what the song stands for although the genre of music has changed quite drastically.
